Hello! I'm glad that you are able to join me for this week's post. If you were here to read the first post (last week on Thanksgiving), thank you for coming back. Today, I’m sharing my thoughts on one of my favorite songs; Space Song.
There is a large chance that you've heard this song if you were alive in 2015, and had a radio in your car at the time (pretty likely).
This song is really dreamy, and if you listened to it enough times, you would probably fall asleep, and start dreaming. It's one of my favorite songs because no matter how many times I hear it, I'll still enjoy it. Whenever I hear a song that I like, I listen to it three times; first, for the instrumentals and to get to know the beat of the song, second for the lyrics, and to understand what the musician felt while they were writing the song, and third, just to enjoy the song and think of what it means to me. But I'm not a robot. I don't, every time I hear a good song think; "Ohh, let me do this exact process.” If the song makes me feel something, I follow my process to feel more of a connection to the song.
This song is amazing for specific occasions, especially if you're on a plane - see below:
My favorite way to listen to this song is in the clouds, just relaxing, not thinking of anything else. You're allowed to listen to this song however you want, of course, but I do recommend that the next time you're on a plane, (while between 6,500 and 15,000 feet in the air, or course).
The great thing about this song is that you can put it on no matter what mood you're in. It could be listened to while you're Billie Eillish, waiting to perform in front of thousands of people, or when you've just broken up with your girlfriend, and you want to escape; It's a very versatile song. Now onto something a wee (what? thought it'd be funny) different.
What really sticks out to me with this song, is that it only has around a paragraph of lyrics. It’s able to draw me in, and make me want to listen to it with only it’s captivating instrumentals. They make me feel very grounded, and safe to be who I am. Other times, they make me feel hopeful and a little bit sad, thinking about the lyrics, saying how life is a cycle, and everything eventually “falls back into place”. A lyric that is particularly meaningful to me is: “who will dry your eyes, when it falls apart.” For me, it represents how whenever something in your life goes wrong, you need the people you love to help you recover, and come back to reality.
As I continue with my blog, my goals and things I want to achieve are definitely going to change. First of all, I'd like to do this for myself, and give myself another way to express it (myself). I want to give other people stories to relate to, and something (somewhat) entertaining to read. I'd also like to develop a following for when I start a music podcast, where I talk with new music artists, and interview other music artists about things that people (most likely) don't know about them. Anyway, Enjoy your day, I hope you gained something from this.
