Learning to take time for your self (don't be detered by the name of this blog)

By: Henry Amadei

Yup, it’s another week that I’m here, and… you’re here. This last week, I traveled to Chicago, and saw some family that I hadn’t seen in a while. I got there, and it was amazing to see uncles, aunts, and grandparents (also my little cousin Miles), but as an introvert, a person who needs alone time to recharge their batteries, I don’t like having that many people around. Socializing takes a lot out of me, and when there’s so many things going on, it feels like too much. Luckily, I had an escape; instead of sleeping in the main house everyone else was, I got to stay in a house down the road with my aunt and uncle. I used it as a way to leave all the craziness and responsibility, taking some time for myself.

During my “time for myself”, I started researching how to write music. I watched some very useful videos, and took notes on them so I could improve on my skills; I learned different types of rhymes, and how words work together to create a story. I also saw that writing poems can be an amazing way to work on your songwriting skills, and convey your ideas/emotions.

On a walk I was taking towards the end of my time there, I thought of some lyrics to a song from just a random piece of fruit that was on the sidewalk, so really anything can be the inspiration to a song, you just have to be open to new experiences. Taking walks, and sometimes being away from other people really helps to focus on what you want, and not only what’s wanted for you. Maybe in a few years, if you see a song by someone close to the name: “Henry August Amadei'' about a piece of fruit on a sidewalk, you can say you were here from the beginning.

I’m now with my cousins, who I feel totally myself with, and have been having an incredible time with. This time with them has really helped me to relax, and not feel so stressed out about things I’ll have to do in my life. Just thought it’d be good to share that Have an exciting day, I hope this improved your mood.
